Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SeekBox application (“Service,” “SeekBox,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account or using SeekBox, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use SeekBox.

1. Overview

SeekBox lets you collect, organize, and rediscover web links. Features may change or grow over time as we improve the service. We value your privacy and are committed to never collecting or using your data without your knowledge and consent. These Terms apply to all use of the Service.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

  • Anyone may use SeekBox. No specific age restriction is enforced, but SeekBox is not intended for children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the Service.
  • Account Registration: Some features require an account. You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure.
  • Account Termination: You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or abuse the Service.

3. User Content and Conduct

  • Your Content: You may save, organize, and (eventually) share links and collections. You are responsible for the content you save or share.
  • Preview Data: SeekBox stores metadata about your saved links (like title, summary, or preview image) to enhance your experience. We do not archive full versions of content from third-party sites.
  • Prohibited Conduct:
    • No spamming, abusive behavior, or attempts to disrupt, circumvent, or exploit SeekBox’s systems.
    • No use of SeekBox for illegal activities.
    • No attempts to impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.
  • Open Source Notice: SeekBox may be open source. Reverse engineering and code review are permitted for transparency.

4. Paid Features

  • SeekBox may offer paid supporter or premium tiers in the future.
  • Additional terms and payment conditions will apply to paid features. We’ll notify you before any charges.

5. Third-Party Services

  • SeekBox integrates with third-party services (such as authentication, analytics, payments).
  • These services are governed by their own terms and policies.
  • SeekBox is not responsible for third-party service failures or misuse.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Ownership: SeekBox and its content (with the exception of user-saved links/content) are owned by SeekBox and its creator.
  • Your Content: You retain rights to your saved content, but grant SeekBox a limited license to operate the Service.
  • DMCA: If you believe your copyright or IP rights are violated, contact services@seekbox.io with details.
  • Data Export: You may request a copy of your saved links and related data at any time by contacting services@seekbox.io. We'll provide it in a reasonable, portable format.

7. Warranty Disclaimer

  • SeekBox is provided “as is” and “as available”.
  • No warranties are given regarding uptime, reliability, data accuracy, or fitness for any purpose.
  • Use SeekBox at your own risk.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law:

  • SeekBox and its creator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
  • Maximum liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the past 12 months.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SeekBox and its creator from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of SeekBox or your violation of these Terms.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced via the Service or email. Your continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

11. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States.
  • Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in California.
  • International Use: SeekBox is operated from the U.S. and may not be appropriate or available in all locations. You are responsible for complying with local laws if accessing SeekBox from outside the U.S.
  • If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
